SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE PLACE OF WORSHIP

YOUR OPINION
SIR: Something is wrong, something is terribly wrong with the place of worship which we refer to as Church. For I read in the daily newspapers recently — on February 18 to be exact, about a priest who removed his altar from the respective place of worship in the Cedros Catholic Church in order to facilitate a Carnival Queen contest.
The Priest said that he had already got full approval of the Archbishop.
SHOCKING
He even went on to say that he thinks a priest should get himself involved in all phases of the lives of his congregation, and that he should participate in all activities "provided" that they have not acts of sin. [as printed]
Well, this is one of the most shocking news items I have read in a very, very long time. This has topped them all.
Later on, in the EXPRESS I read where it did really materialise, and went on to give a descriptive account of the event.
What is really the significance of the Church? And where is it really heading?
Imagine a sacred altar being removed from its place of worship. Imagine a place which was designed for sacred worship solely and wholly to God the Creator of all, becoming a place for tumult of sound and action, which is evi—

—dently the opposite to its former mood and relevant serenity.
Remember, that Christ himself said one cannot serve two masters. He either loves one and hates the other; or hates one and loves the other.
The Rev. can all well and good become involved in the activities of the members of his Church but, any activity involved in it should be for the glory of man or for the glory of God. [as printed]
EFFORTS
The Church is surely losing it's stamina. It is definitely losing what it stands for.
Actually, efforts are being made to remedy the frightening and devastating situation with the people at the moment; with particular stress on the youths who are being diverted from the straight and wholesome path.
It is those who have taken a pledge with God as followers or dedicators who are the ones looked up to, to make that path available.
I think this has gone much too far. The seriousness of true worship to God is no longer there. In fact to be more clear, it is not longer there in the big churches. [as printed]
WOLVES
Don't get me wrong, I am no one way religionist but merely one who goes-for that which is wholly and solely right according to the teachings of God and Christ.
So it's time we do something. People all over the world are standing up for Black Power. They are standing up for better working conditions, and better pay and all sought-for things. Why can't a body be formed to stand up for God to counteract the wolves who go about in sheep's clothing.
